This is one of the most difficult questions for us to answer.

Denials for grant requests occur for a variety of reasons, including failure to meet the Foundation’s criteria and guidelines as articulated in its website, failure to demonstrate sufficient need for the grant, or lack of interest by the Foundation’s board members in the mission or project of the organization making the request.

Unfortunately, due to the volume of grant requests we receive, we are unable to respond to individual requests for more information on a particular denial of a grant request.

Yes! If your grant request was rejected because it did not meet the requirements of our Eligibility Quiz, you are welcome to reapply after adjusting the goals of your program to align with our areas of focus, or waiting until it has been at least 12 months since the last time you have received a grant from us.

If your grant request was successfully submitted, but rejected by the Foundation’s board members, you may still reapply, but we ask that you do not resubmit a new grant request for another 18 months.

We are currently only accepting grants from organizations or projects that focus on Education, Environment, or Social Services.

We typically prefer not to make grants for more than 10% of an organization’s annual budget.

We greatly prefer to prefer funding for specific programs, rather than for administrative or general operations purposes.

Barring exceptional circumstances, we prefer not to provide multi-year funding.

You are welcome to submit a concept paper at any time via our website, but it is our policy not to meet (either in person or via phone/video call) before a request comes in. If we have further questions, we will contact you for clarification or further information.
