Environment Committee Goals
Our goal is to stop the progress of climate change.
We support projects designed to reduce carbon emissions by, among other things:
promoting clean energy
sequestering carbon in the ground
reducing fossil fuel use
preserving old growth forests, marshes, mangroves, and peat bogs that support and protect ecosystems and wildlife from habitat destruction
Additional Guidelines for Grant Request
Request amounts must be clearly defined. Requests that are part of a larger project must be specific and detailed regarding how this particular grant's funding would be allocated within the larger project.
The year following receipt of a grant, the foundation will expect information about how the money was used and what measurable successes were realized.
Giving Frequency: We ask that applicants do not request grants if they have received other grants from the Moccasin Lake Foundation within the last year.
Grant Size: Barring exceptional circumstances, we prefer that grant requests be made for no more than 10% of an organization’s annual budget.
Grant Use: Requests for specific program support is highly preferred over requests for assistance for administrative or general operating costs.
